Plant bare root strawberries or find them in cell packs
Cut back hydrangeas:
Cut stems that have bloomed to 12"
Cut older stems to base of plant
Feed citrus trees
Mulch ground to avoid weeds & protect plants from the cold
February
Sow seeds indoors
Plant bulbs for summer bloom
March
Plant perennials & annuals for summer bloom
Fertilize
June
Divide bearded iris
Check sprinklers for breaks
Mulch plants to protect them from the summer heat, slow down water evaporation & control weeds
Spray roses with Neem Oil to control insects & disease
Fertilize with all-purpose organic fertilizer

Plant pots for 4th of July with phlox, dahlia, celosia, nicotiana, petunia, lobelia, allyssum, cosmos
Deadhead flowering perennials & annuals to prolong bloom
August
Plant for fall color: Cape Fuschia, Lavatera, Princess Flower, Oleander, Butterfly Bush
Deep water trees & shrubs that are on a drip system
September
Shop for spring blooming bulbs: Tulips, daffodils, hyacinth, crocus, freesia, scillas
Cut back lavender to shape before fall rains

Plant daffodils, hyacinth & tulips for spring bloom
Plant cool season annuals: Pansy, stock, Iceland poppy, primrose, calendula, violas
Plant trees & shrubs to cathc the winter rains & get established before the hot summer months

Spray fruit trees, such as peach, with lime sulfur to prevent peach leaf curl
